trendy maternity Photo and Review

If you are looking for nursing bras online you no doubt have been underwhelmed at the selection available, especially if you wear a larger cup size. I only wish I would have tried this bra sooner! First, I was SO glad to finally find a nursing bra in an H cup that wasn’t white!!!!! The microfiber is great and seamless, and dries super quickly after washing. I found this bra to be very true to size, I am between bandsizes and wish I would have ordered one band size down, just so it would be a little more snug. Overall, this is a great nursing bra, lightweight, supportive, and well fitting. I highly recommend it!

  1. Extremely comfortable, very well constructed, washes easily and dries quickly, and stays put while nursing. This is the very best nursing bra I’ve found.

  3. I bought this bra about 6 mos. ago, so I’ve lived in it for awhile. I’ve had quite a few nursing bras, as this is child #4, and this is one of my two very favorites. The other favorite, also an Anita, is #5041. I’m full chested and require underwire and firm support. This bra has some stretch, just enough to be comfortable, but not enough to let you sag at all. It’s very supportive, very comfortable, the snap-style is easy to use when nursing, and this bra (I got black) is not grandma-ish. It helps the chest to stay toward the front, not out to the sides toward your arms (which I hate!). There is no front seam, so this is a great bra for fitted shirts. I can also say that while some bras’ bands tend to stretch out rapidly, causing them not to fit properly, this one has not. There has been just the slightest loss of tightness in the band (almost imperceptible). The straps stretcha little for comfort, but do NOT cause support-performance loss, like some stretch straps can. To me, this bra is expensive, but it is soooo worth it. I would buy again & again. The only thing: the Anita 5041 has the reminder slide on the front to help you keep track of which side you nurse on and I wish it were on this bra. I can no longer wear the 5041 after losing my baby weight b/c they don’t make it in my hard-to-find size – a 36H. It’s so hard to find bras when you are thin but have a larger chest. Thanks Anita for making this bra!

  4. I love that this bra comes in large cup sizes with smaller band sizes and is underwire – a surprisingly difficult combination to find. I also like that this bra isn’t as expensive as others.

Unfortunately, this bra felt uncomfortable to me. I tried four sizes (32G, 32H, 34G, and 34H) and they were all a bit uncomfortable. The shoulder straps, which are fairly wide in the sizes I tried (maybe slightly wider than my thumb at the knuckle), scratched and dug into my skin enough to annoy me. Also, the fabric that rested under my arm pit rubbed a bit, irritating my skin in all four sizes I tried on (I took all four to a lactation consultant to help fit me).

I returned the Anita bras and tried the Bella Materna Seamless Full Cup Underwire Nursing Bra (#1361) in a 34G and it fits great (as long as I nurse/pump about every 4 hours; otherwise it gets snug with all that milk! – sure wish they made an ‘H’ size). The shoulder straps in the Bella Materna bra are soft (they don’t dig or rub) and (once washed) there is no irritating fabric rubbing on my skin from any part of the bra – it’s all very smooth and soft. I also use the Bravado Body Silk Seamless Nursing Bra (not underwire and yet looks nice and is surprising supportive – although not as good as underwire).

To hide nursing pads in my Bella Materna bras, I use the removable molded foam cups from my Bravado bras and stick my nursing pads to them and put them in my bra – they work great together! (I also tried the Bella Materna Lightly Padded Full Cup Bra (#1261), but the band seemed to be a bit tighter and I don’t think the built-in padding allows much room to grow during the day – the Seemless Full Cup is better in my opinion. I ordered directly from the Bella Materna website and received wonderful customer service from ‘Anne’ and received free goodies with my order – a book, lullaby CD, and samples of organic laundry detergent for hand washing my bras – of course, I usually just put them in a pillow case in the washer on the ‘gentle cycle’ and then let them air dry.)

While I really wanted to love this Anita nursing bra, the fit wasn’t for me. It felt awkward and uncomfortable. I’m sure there are plenty of moms who love this nursing bra, but I’m not one of them. I would recommend spending a little more on a Bella Materna Seamless Full Cup Underwire Nursing Bra (#1361) instead if you have a small band size, need a large cup size, and want underwire.

  5. As a mother breastfeeding her third child, I can honestly say this is the best nursing bra I have found. I ordered the black bra, and it’s attractive, very supportive, and truly comfortable. The straps are quite wide and soft, alleviating much of the pressure on my shoulders. I wear a 34 H, and I feel confident and well supported in this bra, which is a true first with a nursing bra. Also, the cup clasps are easy to use, yet very secure. As with all bras, spending more upfront saves money in the long run. I would recommend doing a Google search for Anita’s sizing charts before you order. The band size on this bra runs large, so I ordered one size smaller than I would normally wear and got a perfect fit. Happy nursing!

  6. I bought this bra because I needed extra support. The wireless bras just didn’t cut it. I know there is some concern about having an underwire bra and getting plugged ducts or other breast infections, but I have not had any problems. I would recommend this to anyone who needs extra support.

  7. I loved this bra so, so much at first. I have a very large bust and need good support. I took good care of it and only handwashed… but it’s already stretched out and the underwires have come out. They’re great, but should be a lot more durable for the price.

  8. This bra is very comfortable. I like the wide straps, and it offers adequate support. I usually wear a B or C cup, depending on the bra, but with this bra the C cup was too.

  9. I’ve had this bra now for about a month and so far it’s working out well. Seems to be good quality and as comfortable as you’ll probably get at this point. My only complaint is that they seem to run on the small side–I’d say about 2 sizes too small. If you can find a store that sells these bras, I’d highly recommend trying them on. Then ordering through Amazon since it’s so much cheaper. I ended up having to pay almost $30 for ground shipping through FedEx to send back the 2 that I originally bought.
